SpaceData’s satellite broadband-on-command  services offer ‘turn-key’ solutions for the usage based, very high speed satellite data transfer     of marine seismic or marine science data directly from operational ocean seismic vessels or ocean based scientific platforms with a worldwide fleet of geostationary satellites - the NASA Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System - the TDRSS.

SpaceData’s services are designed to transmit large marine seismic data files or scientific data files uplinked directly from highly rugged, stabilized shipboard tracking antenna - shipset packages installed on oceangoing vessels or scientific platforms - to the operational TDRS System and immediately downlinked to SpaceData’s gateway site at NASA’s TDRSS ground facilities located in White Sands, New Mexico, USA.

The data is then optionally distributed on dedicated commercial fiber/commercial satellite links, the Internet, the Internet2, LambdaRail or other terrestrial commercial or academic networks directly to customer’s locations for immediate processing, review, utilization and ultimately storage.

Ocean going seismic vessels may be equipped with highly rugged SpaceData ‘shipset packages’ - designed, built and supported by General Dynamics C4S - including an ‘above-deck’ stabilized 18”, 20”, 24” or 30” diameter Ku-band marine tracking antenna - with Radome - along with a ‘below-deck’ equipment rack and optional system redundancy & RAID disk storage devices.

With ocean broadband satellite data transfer speed capabilities ranging from 36Mbps, 44Mbps, 64Mbps and 100Mbps - or more - directly from operational vessels at sea back to a centralized U.S. hub, SpaceData has designed, developed, tested, operated and offers simply the planet’s fastest commercial satellite data transfer service.

The operational nine (9) satellite NASA TDRS fleet services offered with SpaceData - the Tracking Data Relay  Satellite System - have the greatest data transmission capability - power & bandwidth - of any commercial satellite system in the world today and in the foreseeable future. Essentially a fleet of high power, tracking spot satellite transponders specifically structured - in this case - for ocean broadband services for the digital offshore community.

The TDRS System’s highly unique pointing and tracking transponder technology are able reach targets moving virtually anywhere in the world’s oceans, lands and space.
